As a last news for 2014, this crazy remix of Sleeping Land (Part.I) (extract from 'The Rustle Of The Stars' album) by the great Max Cooper! Can't believe it's nearly 4 years since we we're preparing the 'wall of sound' for this in a freezing church in Leeds. Deep thanks to my friend and bandmate Richard Knox and to all the nice people who followed us during the making of the album and the successive tours with this project: Angela Chan, Eleanor May Irving, Tim Hay, David Ramsay, Lidwine, Florence VJ Fawcett, David Bart...
Some words by Max Cooper:
"One of the most beautiful pieces of music I've been lucky enough to work with this year, out today as a free download for you below. It is an important piece of music to me personally, partly because it was the result of a chance string of events driven by my love of the original track and a fortuitous meeting with Frederic D. Oberland, one half of The Rustle of the Stars with Richard Knox. And partly because I love the intensity and feeling of the original which I have tried to convey in my own way with little regard for the usual rules of making music - ambient strings arrangement at one end, and a drum and bass wall of sound at the other, because that's what I felt was required to communicate the emotions I found in the original piece, inspired by a musical passage through the North Pole explorer diaries. It's very winter-y. And I'm very pleased Richard and Frederic agreed to allow me to give the remix away for free to anyone who would like to hear it this Christmas!"
The limited vinyl version of the original 'The Rustle Of The Stars' album is sold out since 2012 but you can still ORDER the digisleeve CD through Gizeh Records and stream the whole album below.
