Recorded 4 years ago with Colin Johnco (Dr (Dr)one, Pacific Salmons, FareWell Poetry), Seb El Zin (Anarchist Republic of Bzzz, Ithak) and Dave Olliffe (Heligoland, Sealight), 'Hommage à Altagor' is finally available to stream and to download for free!
At the margins of the French lettriste movement, Altagor (pseudonym of Jean Vernier) formerly a mechanic and miner, then writer of thrillers, created 'Métapoésie' poetry composed of invented words, therefore abstract. Also an instrument builder, he accompanied his poetry readings on the pantophone, a stringed, bowed instrument.
More than 40 years after, with the help of the galerist Alain Oudin, Colin and I played this amazing instrument out of the limbo for two special performances, joined by Dave and Seb on guitars.
A strong memory for a vibrating tribute. ENJOY.
